A useful indicator for the Pelér (northerly wind)
The intensity of the Ora and Pelér winds can be estimated from the pressure difference, expressed in hectopascals (hPa), between Bolzano and Brescia/Ghedi.
Pelér occurs when air pressure is higher to the north than to the south. As this difference increases, the Pelér becomes stronger over the northern area of Lake Garda. If the situation is reversed and pressure is higher in the south, the Ora, the southerly wind, becomes dominant instead.
